A mid century - giraffe shed wedding.

When Bryony and Hayley got in touch with me and I could see that their wedding was at The Giraffe Shed, I was over the moon! Having got married at this venue myself, it definitely holds a special place in my heart. So, having to style it for someone else was a dream!

Little did I know, Bryony and Hayley after months and months of planning and their wedding day being a bloody lush day we would become great friends. Bryony and Hayley live in Brighton and I live in little old Wales, so whenever they are visiting family closer to me, we meet up for a coffee and a good old catch up! We caught up not so long ago around my birthday, and I had two lush surprises from them that day. A birthday present and the wonderful news that they were moving to Wales, in fact 20 minutes down the road from me. Painting parties are already being planned!

Back to their gorgeous wedding day. I knew it was right up my street when Bryony described her dream wedding style as ‘60’s retro vintage’. As a keen antique shopper and 60’s decor lover myself I knew this was going to be a lot of fun to style.

Many styling items for Bryony and Hayleys wedding were bought from the cute little antique shops in the Brighton Lanes or from small independent shops in their hometown in Lewes.

Above them during the ceremony we hung vintage lampshades from the beams with disco balls in between, keeping the vintage but 60’s retro theme alive.

As we transitioned into the evening, the tables were decorated with rust coloured runners, pink linen napkins and brass candlesticks.

Again, to keep the retro theme going throughout the day Bryony and Hayley added sun love heart glasses to everyone's place setting, which everyone rocked later that night on the dancefloor! As the pair are both lovers of the outdoors they also gifted their guests with a little packet of wildflower seeds. These were in personalised seed packets with the couples new joint surname on the front, cleverly joining both their maiden names together ‘The Chillfoxes’

The couple opted for a relaxed food option of pizza. Giving a very informal vibe, but having the tables laid out in such a way it brought everyone together. They also shared the cutest little loveheart shaped garlic bread too. I can comfirm the pizzas from Pedel and Push catering are delicious!

More personal touches for the day was using postcards for the guestbook. They had postcards from Brighton, where Bryony and Hayley currently live (not for long!) Bristol where Hayley and her family are from and Wales, the place they love the most. We made a little cosy corner with The Giraffe Sheds green sofa, filling the corner with lit up lampshades, throws and cushions. Giving guests somewhere to relax at the end of the night or if they needed to hang their dancing shoes up for a minute.

Film cameras were spread around the venue for guests to take photos throughout the day.

Hayley and Bryonys wedding was such a lovely family affair, there were nephews running around, dogs and friends having the best time. With a gorgeous vegan grazing spread in the evening, the cake being cut up and shared and a few baby guinnesses later. The night ended with some 2000’s bangers and everyone on the dance floor.

We joke now about the amount of messages Bryony sent me over the course of planning their wedding, but honestly I wouldn’t have had it any other way! I love communication, and it only brought us closer. Their wedding day was (as the welsh say) LUSH!

It was a full circle moment for me, being back in The Giraffe Shed. I loved it, and Bryony and Hayley, I love you both! Thank you for having me style your wedding day, it was my pleasure.
